Services

Types of Services

I see people for a variety of emotional, spirtual and physical difficulties.  I specialize in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems which have been found to enhance healing across a variety of difficulties.

I provide supervision and consultation to a diverse range of professionals (e.g. Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Psychiatrists, Counsellors, MDs, Social Workers) seeking to enhance their case conceptualization and intervention skills. Our work together addresses both theoretical and clinical considerations, with a focus on:

  1. Strengthening therapeutic effectiveness
  2. Exploring personal factors that may contribute to therapeutic impasses

I offer an IEDTA accredited ISTDP core training, details can be found here: Core Training in ISTDP with Dr Ange Cooper – IEDTA

I offer advanced training groups. A new group starts every year and there is usually a waiting list so please get in touch if you want your name added to the list.  Ideally you will have completed an ISTDP core training or core training in another psychotherapeutic model to be eligible for this training

If you are seeking to understand and address the root causes of burnout and reconnect with the meaning and joy in your work, I offer online group spaces specifically for physicians. These groups provide a supportive environment to explore and release internalized beliefs around invulnerability and perfectionism, allowing you to reclaim your humanity, embrace vulnerability, and reconnect with your authentic sense of self.

In addition to fostering personal growth, these groups aim to contribute to broader cultural and systemic change within the medical field by cultivating deeper self-awareness and resilience. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to contact me for further details.

The story of

Dr. Cooper

I am originally from Lancashire in the UK but now find myself in a very special place in the world called Nova Scotia, Canada.  I have always been interested in people, their emotions and deep conversations, this led me into my psychology career which I have been studying and practicing for over 15 years.  Over the last 3 years, I have become increasingly interested in the healing power of spritual experiences which have dramatically enhanced the healing of my own inner wounds.  Because of these profound spiritual experiences, I now work to blend psychological and spiritual approaches to enhance the innate healing powers that exist in us all.
